Shantal built an immediate and meaningful connection with our kid — during COVID, no less — which felt like a warm, steady presence at a time when we knew we needed help, but weren’t sure in what form. Her in-person and virtual therapy sessions allowed her to truly understand our kid in his natural environment, and she gave us clarity and direction on how best to support our kid’s language skills. We are so grateful for her expertise and compassion, and can’t recommend her services enough.

Ms. De Silva was caring, thoughtful, creative and ultimately effective in helping our son from kindergarten through fifth grade. Initially he had articulation needs, but his behavior soon required more help — she helped him with all of these needs. Eventually he was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. Ms. De Silva learned about and applied much of the Social Thinking curriculum, which was effective for him and other students. As he continued to grow and his needs changed, she continued to effectively evolve her strategies. She stood out as one of the most caring and connected faculty members over our son’s tenure. I would recommend her without reservation.

I had the privilege of working with Shantal for four years, and she is the absolute best. Her impact on my daughter, who has many speech and communication challenges, was profound. Shantal’s approach is thoughtful and creative, and she collaborates well with parents, teachers and other providers. Most importantly, my daughter adores her, and she quickly became a trusted adult in her life.

From Kindergarten to 5th grade, I worked with Ms. DeSilva. She was originally assigned to me to help me with my speech, but once those issues had been dealt with, she continued to aid me in navigating social situations at school. It was very difficult at first, for her and for my family, because we didn’t always know for certain that I had ADHD and autism. And yet despite these difficulties, Ms. DeSilva tried her hardest to help me and she clearly really cared about me. She helped me to learn many social skills that I still apply.
